Dental Extraction - Bobcat
VETIGEL was used to achieve rapid haemostasis during a dental extraction in a bobcat. Bleeding was controlled effectively, allowing the procedure to be completed without complication. The patient recovered uneventfully following the extraction.
Dental Procedure – Rabbit
VETIGEL, used with VETIGEL Precision Accessories, was applied during a rabbit incisor procedure to achieve rapid haemostasis and support controlled, efficient dental treatment.
Gingivectomy — Maxillary 4th Premolars
VETIGEL was used to achieve rapid haemostasis during a gingivectomy involving the maxillary fourth premolars in a dog. Bleeding was effectively controlled, allowing the procedure to be completed without complication.

Mass Removal
Before and after sequence showing VETIGEL application and removal during a mass removal procedure.
Blocked Gut – Axolotl
This axolotl unfortunately had a blocked gut due to eating gravel. It underwent a surgical procedure to remove the gravel. The veterinarian realised that after completing the skin sutures there was oozing along the incision. The axolotl needed to be placed back into its tank, where the water was not sterile. It was decided to use VETIGEL on the suture line as a sealant. This was very successful and the axolotl went on to make a full recovery to full health.
Pouch Laceration Repair – Brown Pelican
VETIGEL was used during surgical repair of a pouch laceration near the glottis in an adult brown pelican. When a large bleeder was encountered in this highly vascular area, VETIGEL rapidly controlled the bleeding.

Nail Avulsion - Crested Oropendola
VETIGEL was used to achieve rapid haemostasis following a nail avulsion in a crested oropendola. Bleeding was effectively controlled, and the patient recovered without complication.

Cutaneous Spindle Cell Tumour Removal - Goldfish
A geriatric goldfish (10+ years old) underwent surgical removal of a cutaneous spindle cell tumour. Haemostasis was effectively achieved, and the patient recovered uneventfully with normal swimming behaviour post-op.
The mass was diagnosed as a cutaneous spindle cell tumour (SST). The patient, a geriatric goldfish (10+ years old), originally acquired at a fair, underwent surgical removal of the lesion. Haemostasis was effectively achieved, and the patient recovered uneventfully.

Amputation - Asian Leopard Cat
VETIGEL used during surgery on an Asian Leopard Cat with a severe front-foot injury requiring amputation.
Sole Debridement
23-year-old QH mare with a sole debridement into bleeding corium, no appreciable bleeding observed with VETIGEL, one syringe used.
"Here is a 23-year-old QH mare with a sole debridement into bleeding corium. It is interesting because there was no appreciable bleeding with VETIGEL. I only had to use one VETIGEL syringe."

Solar Keratoma
Step-by-step sequence showing VETIGEL applied to the lesion with gentle pressure using wet gauze, and the gel left in place.
"16-year-old Mini underwent an enucleation with no complications."

Sinus Ethmoid
Frontonasal flap case with a large sinus ethmoid haematoma, bleeding controlled with VETIGEL and saline-soaked gauze.
"Here is a frontonasal flap on a 6-year-old gelding with a large sinus ethmoid haematoma. VETIGEL resolved the bleeding with about 5 minutes of pressure. I used 3 syringes along with saline-soaked gauze. The gelding experienced no post-op active bleeding, only minor expected drainage."

Enucleation
Standing enucleation case, VETIGEL applied into the orbit and distributed with moistened gauze, pressure applied, bleeding controlled.
"A 36-year-old gelding underwent a right eye standing enucleation. Despite active bleeding, two syringes of VETIGEL effectively controlled the haemorrhage. The VETIGEL was applied directly into the orbit, followed by the placement of approximately 10 4x4 gauze pads moistened with saline to distribute the VETIGEL evenly. Pressure was applied and the gauze was twisted to ensure adequate coverage. After about 3 minutes, all gauze was removed, revealing no further bleeding. The remaining VETIGEL in the orbit was left untouched, and the area was closed without rinsing or removing excess gel."

Fracture Repair – Sea Turtle
VETIGEL was applied to a carapace fracture in a sea turtle to support rapid haemostasis and local bleeding control during treatment, helping stabilise the site and facilitate effective clinical management.
