“I’ve been using VETIGEL for a few years now.”
What do you appreciate most about VETIGEL®?
“I like the long shelf life of VETIGEL and the ease of use. It’s not messy like haemostatic powders and it stays in place better than the haemostatic cubes.”
What types of procedures have benefited most from VETIGEL® in your experience?
“I have used VETIGEL in enucleations (which I use for the most), and haemoabdomen and dentistry. I use VETIGEL in my enucleations since we don’t typically ligate the ocular vessels. Usually, I just sit there with gauze and pressure waiting for it to stop bleeding. This can take 5–10 minutes. By using the VETIGEL I can just apply it and move on to the closure. It was very helpful in the 2-pound kitten I had to enucleate. She was so small I didn’t want her to bleed too much as well as be under anesthesia any longer than she needed to be. That’s why I say VETIGEL is a time saver.”

“I could see it being used in an ER for severe laceration, deep wounds, organ laceration, etc.”
Would you recommend VETIGEL® to other veterinary professionals?
“Yes. I have recommended it. I do relief work at several clinics and shelters. One had an enucleation on my schedule. That clinic didn’t have VETIGEL but luckily, I still had some of my own stash that I used for that surgery.”
