KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Proven Results: Dr. Jammes has relied on VETIGEL® for over three years, using it in around 30 procedures, including dental extractions, enucleations, and spays, with consistently effective results.
  • Commitment to Patient Care: Despite her corporate hospital not stocking VETIGEL®, she personally purchases it to ensure her patients benefit from reduced blood loss and better surgical outcomes.
  • Confidence and Versatility: VETIGEL® has become a trusted tool in her practice, and she sees potential for its use in additional procedures like tumor removals to further enhance her surgical capabilities.

How long have you been using VETIGEL®, and in how many procedures have you used it?

“For about three years, after I saw it at the New York Vet Show. I’ve used it in about 30 procedures.”

What do you like about VETIGEL®?

“It definitely works, I find it very effective, and it’s easy to use. This means it gives you confidence that it will control haemostasis when needed.”

Tell me about some of the procedures you’ve found benefited from the use of VETIGEL®?

“I’ve used it in a number of dental extractions, where it really saves time and reduces blood loss. The same can be said for enucleations, and I have used it in a number of dogs and cats. It’s also useful in abdominal surgery when you can’t stop haemorrhage by ligation alone, such as in some spays.”

What else can you tell me about your use of VETIGEL®?

“I really love having it available. Unfortunately, my corporate doesn’t currently stock it, so I pay for it out of my own pocket as I really appreciate the benefits it brings to my patients.”

You have clearly had a lot of experience with VETIGEL®; what other areas do you think it should be considered for?

“Potentially in tumor removals, where you can get a lot of general bleeding, but haven’t done so yet.”

What other areas do you think it should be considered for?

“I’d be interested to see how it works in thrombocytopenic animals, and those with other coagulopathies.”
